Wild Weekend: Part 2
So Adia wouldn't give up on the water park issue. We had told her that we were going to one, and she expected it. Not only that, but she kept reminding us that she had cast a spell on her dad, so it had to happen! There are several water parks in Northern Utah that we could choose from, but with the weather being so cool and the clouds threatening rain again at that point we decided it wasn't worth trying it. But then we remembered this fun little motel we had heard about that had a water slide. We figured that would be good enough, so we packed our bags, and made a trip down to Salt Lake. It was a pretty nice place to stay, (The bed was one giant king sized bit of heavenly goodness) but the "water park" was the main attraction for the kids. There was one actual water slide. (Adia was a few inches too short to ride it, and she was MAD! She told the life guards exactly what she thought of it too) But they had a couple of different pools, a hot tub, and some kid slides and she had a pretty good time with those. Ethan LOVED the water slide. If you know him you know that he has about a five second attention span, so standing in lines is not his thing. When we first got there it was early afternoon, and there was just us and one other family there. He didn't have to wait at all and ended up going down it more than 25 times (I stopped counting after that) He had tons of fun. We finally talked him into leaving to get a little dinner, and walk around a bit. When we came back the place was packed. There was about a 5 minute wait to get on the slide. Not too long...unless you are Ethan, and then it is forever! I didn't think he would make it to slide down even once. I figured he would lose interest and leave long before it was his turn. He did make it though. And he surprised me by going over and over again. I guess if it is something as important as a water slide it's worth the wait. He also took the opportunity to make some friends while he was in the line. By the time we left he knew just about everyone in the motel, I think. And everyone knew him. When we walked down the halls, when we got in the elevator, when we went down for breakfast the next morning, we always met up with someone who knew Ethan. Over and over again we kept hearing strangers yell "Hey, Ethan!" It was bazaar. But way fun too!
