Family Night

For family night this week we had big plans. After a short lesson we were going to work in the garden, then eat grilled pineapple.

The pineapple portion of the evening went perfectly. So delicious with a yummy crust of toasted brown sugar around the outside, and juicy and sweet on the inside. MMMM, Yummy! The gardening part went pretty well too...for about two minutes. Then we discovered that there was a hole in our hose, and after that, well, see for yourself...

Pretty proud of herself for finding a great shelter/hiding place.

In the end Adia declares herself the champion of the Family Night Water Fight

But Dad pulls weight, and soaks them both...

But as long as he's wet anyway... Why not join 'em?

The aftermath!

Troy is not so proud of himself after getting out of the hot tub and reaching into his pocket to discover his cell phone. (That explains the face, but please don't tell him I included this photo. He's not in love with it.:)

All in all it was a pretty good family night even if we didn't get any work done in the garden. You can't get better than a good old fashioned water fight on a hot summer evening to bring a family closer together, right?!:)
