Royal Wedding Party
I'm not sure if you heard, but there was a silly little wedding on Friday. It wasn't a big deal, and you probably didn't hear much about it, but it happened nonetheless. My friend Jenny was really excited to watch it, but she had family in town and her daughter's birthday party that day and didn't get to tune it. I was not so into it, but I love to throw a good party, and a theme party is even better, so we went ahead and had a royal wedding party on Monday. Stacy was nice enough to offer her house (or at least didn't say no when I invited everyone over there:) We had fabulous fancy hats, a sash with our royal names (Lady + your grandparent's first name+ your favorite pet's name+ the street you grew up on For example, I was Lady Jaqueline Aristotle-Copperwell.)written on them in glitter glue (fancy)And we enjoyed a little feathery bling with some fancy boas. We ate yummy treats that a real princess would enjoy such as fancy bacon spinach salad, fancy finger sandwiches, fancy cheese on fancy crackers, fancy scones and tea, and a fancy bubbly raspberry princess drink. (plus of course some whipped cream because everything seems a little fancier with whipped cream on top.) We read trashy royal scandal and wedding magazines, and watched the wedding online (which ended up being much better than if we had watched the day of because we could skip through the boring parts, and re-watch the exciting moments like the queen dozing off and the groom not being able to slip the ring on the bride's finger.) And even though we ended up with a little boy who kept licking the dog, and a little girl with singed hair, I would say the entire thing went rather well. I am so lucky to have such good friends.
