Adios

Troy has an Uncle Marv who can't remember Adia's name. The only way he can remember it is to say Adie-os. So that's what he calls her, and we have recently spent some time with him, so she heard that quite a few times. She knows that he us using her name when he says it, but she also know that adios is the way to say good-bye in Spanish. She is such a thinker, she decided that if you are saying good-bye to someone specifically you put their name in the first part of the word. So now when Ethan is going somewhere she says "Ethan-os" and when she gets off the phone with Troy she says "Daddy-os" It is pretty funny, but now she says it to everyone... "bus driver-os"... People who aren't part of our family don't really know what she is talking about, and they give her the Nod-&-Chuckle like people do when they can't understand a kid, but don't want to hurt their feelings. That doesn't stop her though, she says it to everyone. Yesterday she was thanking the mail man for handing her the mail. She said "Gracias and mailman-os" I laughed and told her how great it was that she could speak Spanish so well, and told her that if she wasn't careful people were going to think she was Hispanic like Dora the Explorer. So now she has told everyone we have seen since then "I can speak Spanish, but I'm not Dora the Explorer". Problem solved!
